About the role
- Design buildings and heavy industrial structures in accordance with design codes and standards published by ICC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
- Concrete and structural steel design, including vibration analysis.
- Use RISA, STAAD.Pro, Mathcad, LPILE and other structural software.
- Determine client requirements and develop reports, specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering estimates and design schedules for projects.
- Evaluate the need for design changes and communicate appropriate recommendations to project manager or clients.
- Serve as a technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas.
- Consult with construction personnel on design constructability as related to field conditions.
- Visit construction sites to monitor progress, make structural observations.
- Lead multiple, concurrent projects.
- Develop less experienced members through project task delegation.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews on structural calculations, specifications, and drawings.
Requirements
- Experience in the design of heavy industrial structures and equipment foundations associated with power generation facilities, in compliance with design codes and standards published by IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
- Proficient in concrete and structural steel design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and team members.
- Software: RISA or STAAD.Pro, Mathcad, L-Pile or MFAD (optional), AutoCAD, BlueBeam Revu
- PE License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
