About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in negotiations and lead management of individual supplier relationships
  • Deliver year-over-year productivity and working capital goals
  • Work with businesses and plants to achieve annual productivity and working capital targets
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Logistics, IT, and other functions
  • Analyze procurement markets and attend trade fairs to identify potential sources
  • Create global purchasing strategies for purchased-component categories including Sub-Con, Tires & Rims, Paint, Rubber, Rubber Components, and Belts
  • Negotiate, implement, and manage supplier contracts and service-level agreements
  • Execute tenders and benchmarks, conduct price comparisons, and optimize procurement conditions
  • Initiate price and value analyses and pursue parts/material substitutions where necessary
  • Implement procurement and sourcing processes, supplier development, and supplier scorecards
  • Plan and implement projects, including portions of complex large-scale projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of strategic sourcing experience, including supplier selection, supplier management, and contract negotiations
  • Minimum 3 years of category strategy or material field strategy experience
  • Knowledge of procurement and sourcing techniques and strategies, supplier integration, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Special knowledge in relevant areas of responsibility, ideally outdoor equipment and/or power tools
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful year-over-year productivity projects
  • Computer skills, including MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and facilitation skills
  • Strong project management, program management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment while managing multiple and often conflicting priorities
