About the role
- Develop and execute category and brand strategies aligned with overall DEWALT and regional objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
- Lead the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) process, from ideation through successful market launch.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to localize and activate category initiatives and ensure new products meet customer and commercial needs.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability for NPD milestones, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Oversee product lifecycle management, including forecasting, supply alignment, and end-of-life planning to maximize category performance.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Channel teams to drive adoption and execution of go-to-market plans across all channels.
- Own the category P&L, monitor and optimize performance, and report insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of learning, agility, and high performance within the category team, mentoring and developing talent.
- Ensure best-in-class service levels for customers by supporting cross-functional teams and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in product management, category management, or brand leadership within consumer durables, tools, or related industries.
- Proven track record of driving category growth, launching successful products, and managing P&L accountability.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and customer insights.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects in a matrixed organization.
- Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of go-to-market strategies across multiple channels (Retail, eCommerce, Independent, etc.).
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with product lifecycle management, including forecasting, supply alignment, and end-of-life planning.
- Ability to mentor, develop, and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of learning and agility.
- Deep understanding of end-user needs, market dynamics, and competitive landscape within the relevant industry.
