About the role

  • The Director of Distribution Capabilities is responsible for driving operational excellence across the distribution network through continuous improvement, training and development, standard operating procedures (SOP) governance, and data-drive insight.
  • Partner closely with Distribution Operations, Supply Chain, and cross-functional teams to enhance performance, ensure consistent execution, and support scalable growth.
  • Lead initiatives to identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement across distribution centers.
  • Champion Lean principles and best practices to optimize efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of projects that deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Own the creation, standardization, and governance of distribution SOPs.
  • Ensure SOPs are regularly updated, compliant, and adopted consistently across all sites.
  • Build and oversee training programs that upskill teams, reinforce SOPs, and enhance operational capabilities.
  • Partner with HR and Operations leaders to ensure onboarding and ongoing training programs are effective and scalable.
  • Develop and manage reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance metrics for distribution operations.
  • Translate data into actionable insights to improve productivity, labor management, and service performance.
  • Partner with IT/Analytics teams to enhance data availability, accuracy, and usability for decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in distribution, supply chain, data analytics, or logistics, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
  • Prove track record of leading continuous improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar).
  • Strong background in SOP development, training program design, and change management.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in leveraging data tools and dashboards to drive decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
