About the role
- Working closely with DEWALT Field Engineers and Sales teams to provide technical support for the latest DEWALT MEP and FP products.
- Using technical data, proprietary design software and market databases to provide answers to product questions, submittal requests, quantity take-offs, and project specification leads to generate sales leads.
- Developing a strong technical understanding of specified products (under the SBD/DEWALT brands), how they are used in construction, and how they are designed in accordance with current building codes.
- Collaborating with key contractors, distributors, and design teams.
- Assessing potential application of company products and offering solutions to meet customer needs.
- Preparing quantity take-offs of anchors, hangers, and seismic braces related to MEP and FP assemblies.
- Creating product submittals for field personnel to facilitate the sale of DEWALT Specified products.
- Providing assistance on proprietary technical anchor & hanger design software to clients and communicating customer feedback for future product developments.
- Embracing and becoming versed in construction technology and future trends influencing the specified fasteners business such as Building Information Modeling and construction software.
- Developing and maintaining client records in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
- Providing support and territory coverage to Field Engineers as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent with technical component required
- Construction Industry experience required in the fields of MEP, HVAC, Fire Sprinkler installation or Electrical trades.
- Minimum 1 year experience in MEP/FP estimating, design, fabricating or related activity
- Impeccable communication skills – both spoken and written – mandatory
- Able to handle multiple priorities, organize, plan, and meet difficult deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, construction specifications, and documents
- Strong Interpersonal, negotiation, follow-up, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of computer applications including MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience with REVIT/AUTOCAD MEP, Bluebeam, and Salesforce preferred
- Ability to present products and technical content to customers
- High energy, outgoing, and eager to meet and exceed goals and targets
- Self-starter with ability to manage own schedule and work as “home-based”
- Technical sales experience a plus
