About the role

  • Manages the efficient and effective operations of pharmacy services
  • Supervises and manages associated personnel staff
  • Interprets and enforces established policies and procedures
  • Creates new policies and procedures
  • Designs and implements performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental, and infection control
  • Provides oversight to pharmacy personnel with respect to the Pharmacy Department goals and objectives
  • Collaborates with leadership team to improve services and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Designs, implements, and monitors pharmacy practices to optimize medication management outcomes
  • Supervises and manages technical support staff and clinical pharmacists
  • Participates in Informatics meeting discussions and practice implementation
  • Partners across the organization to develop and implement solutions for improved member/client satisfaction
  • Reviews department performance and effects changes as required
  • Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals on patient drug therapy
  • Oversees training programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required
  • PGY1 and 3 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required
  • PGY1 and PGY2 (General) with 1 year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required
  • PGY1 and PGY2 HSPAL Residency completion required
  • Knowledge of California State Board of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Skill in the use of establishing policies and procedures
  • Ability to interpret new laws, guidelines as applied to the practice of Pharmacy
  • Ability to interpret regulations and guidelines as applicable to the practice of Pharmacy
  • Licensed as a Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy within 120 Days
