About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Answer high-volume inbound patient calls professionally and courteously
- Make outbound calls for appointment confirmations, rescheduling, reminders, and follow-up
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments while managing multiple provider calendars
- Register new patients and update demographics, insurance information, and medical records in the EMR
- Manage and maintain accurate patient records in eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
- Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and other insurance-related administrative tasks as needed
- Route messages, prescription refill requests, and clinical inquiries to the appropriate provider or department
- Coordinate with providers, clinical staff, imaging centers, and pharmacies to ensure continuity of patient care
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times
- Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fluent English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting a U.S.-based medical practice
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Front Desk Coordinator, Medical Administrative Assistant, Patient Coordinator, or Medical Assistant
- Experience handling high-volume inbound and outbound patient calls
- Strong appointment scheduling and calendar management experience
- Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) is strongly preferred
- Experience with insurance verification, eligibility checks, prior authorizations, and referrals is highly preferred
- Experience in Pain Management, Spine, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Sports Medicine, or similar specialties is highly preferred
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment
Benefits
Comp & perks- Full-time contractor position
- 40 hours per week
- Negotiable pay rate depending on skillset and experience
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8 AM to 4 PM CST
