About the role
- Overall responsibility for sales including P&L, budget, forecasting and KPI management (revenue, contribution margin (CM), churn, NPS)
- Sales strategy & portfolio: market and competitor analyses, pricing/product strategy (tariffs, bundled products, green electricity/green gas), cross- and up‑selling
- Key accounts & tenders: acquisition and management of large customers, participation in tenders (B2B/RLM), framework contract management
- Channel management: direct sales, partner/agents, online/digital, telesales, municipal utility cooperations; lead funnel & CRM
- Collaboration with trading/portfolio: offer pricing, margin, risk and sales planning, coordination with portfolio management/energy trading
- Process & compliance: ensuring energy market processes (e.g. customer switching, billing) and compliance with legal requirements (EnWG, GVV, price information, data protection)
- Leadership & development: disciplinary and professional leadership; recruiting, coaching, target systems/OKRs
- Business development: development of new business areas (e.g. PV rooftop systems, charging infrastructure, heat pumps, contracting, tenant electricity)
- Stakeholder management: interfaces with grid/production/IT/regulation/legal and close collaboration with marketing & service
Requirements
- Several years of leadership experience in sales within the energy sector (energy utilities, municipal utilities, energy trading or energy services) with result responsibility
- Strong B2B and B2C sales skills; confident in negotiations, tenders and contract drafting
- Solid understanding of pricing/margin management, sales forecasts and risk; proficient with CRM and BI tools
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and processes (e.g. EnWG, electricity/gas GVV, market communication, data protection)
- Entrepreneurial mindset, strong execution skills, clear communication
- University degree (e.g. business, engineering or law) or equivalent qualification
