About the role
- Lead and evolve Stacker’s Distribution team; oversee business development and partner success; own distribution network representing 4k+ unique publishers and news outlets
- Define and execute Stacker’s long-term distribution roadmap; deepen relationships with existing publishers and drive new partnerships
- Expand distribution strategy into emerging channels like email newsletters, creator platforms, and AI search integrations
- Build partner activation programs and ensure content meets editorial needs to earn continued trust
- Represent publisher voice internally and externally; participate in industry events and create thought leadership
- Develop frameworks for tracking performance and network health and use insights to guide strategy
- Manage and grow a lean team in a player-coach leadership role
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in media partnerships, business development, or publisher success—ideally with leadership experience in a high-growth, digital media, or SaaS-adjacent environment
- 2+ years managing and leading team
- Proven ability to manage and grow high-performers
- Strategic thinker who can balance big-picture innovation with day-to-day execution
- Deep understanding of the digital media landscape and an instinct for where it’s going
- Experience working with news publishers and a strong grasp of editorial, audience, and monetization priorities
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and designing systems in uncharted territory
- Comfort with systems like Airtable, ClickUp, ChatGPT, Zapier, HubSpot, etc.
