About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support all elements of environmental management and compliance from land acquisition through data center operations
  • Support implementation, continuous improvement, and ongoing maintenance of the Environmental Compliance Program
  • Assist with local and federal compliance obligations
  • Work with Development Teams to provide technical support, guidance, and resources for site compliance
  • Support a comprehensive environmental management program within STACK Americas
  • Oversee and manage due diligence activities, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, air permitting, SWPPP, SPCC, and Tier II
  • Review and communicate environmental consultant and internal deliverables
  • Communicate recommendations cross-functionally to diverse stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver training related to environmental compliance and management
  • Provide technical support to Critical Operations for permit and compliance obligations at operating data centers
  • Maintain knowledge of changing environmental regulations and policies and advise on strategies supporting development efforts
  • Develop scopes of work, coordinate third-party consulting bids, manage projects, and review environmental reports and deliverables
  • Report directly to the Director, Environment, Health & Safety and contribute to the EHS team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7–10+ years’ experience with environmental management
  • Proficient in managing and overseeing multiple environmental due diligence, remediation, permitting, and compliance projects
  • Working knowledge of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, NEPA, SWPPP, SPCC, and Tier II
  • Experience in air permitting required
  • Data center project development experience preferred
  • Virginia environmental regulations experience preferred
  • Ability to develop scopes of work, coordinate third-party consulting bids, manage projects, and review environmental reports and deliverables
  • Experience implementing and managing ISO 14001 certifications preferred
  • Strong communication, analytical, decision-making, prioritization, team-building, and continual-improvement abilities
  • Willingness to travel 15–35%
