Revenue Officer
St Vincent's Health AustraliaRevenue Officer ensuring financial health of Private Division in St Vincent's Healthcare, managing billing and revenue inquiries. Play a key role in producing accurate patient accounts and managing aged debt.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of the Private Division
- Produce high-quality, accurate patient accounts whilst navigating health fund contract business rules
- Ensure all necessary claim forms and certification documents are meticulously completed
- Be the go-to person for all revenue-related inquiries, providing professional and prompt support to staff, patients, and health funds
- Strategically manage aged debt, working within departmental KPIs and contractual agreements
- Proactively liaise with health funds and patients to resolve outstanding claims
- Cross-check the accuracy of MBS item numbers, Prostheses rebate codes entered and Theatre coding prior to billing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in a Billing role within a private healthcare setting will be highly favourable
- Demonstrated experience interpreting Health Fund contracts with respect to application of billing rules
- Experienced using Patient Administration Systems ideally in a healthcare organisation
- High level of self-motivation, drive and initiative combined with adaptability
- Working knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
- High level of attention to detail and capable of multi-tasking and prioritising work
- Intermediate skill level in use of Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI
- Previous experience and confidence in debt collection
- High level written and oral communication skills and excellent computer skills
