About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clerical support and facilitate patient management
  • Admit patients and complete reception duties
  • Create patient records and accurately complete required information in line with current procedures
  • Handle patient enquiries by telephone and in person
  • Arrange patient appointments as requested by clinical staff
  • Preserve patient confidentiality
  • Cover staff absenteeism across Monday to Sunday as required
  • Work as part of the Environmental Services team across St Vincent’s Melbourne campus locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous administration experience in a health setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of private health fund billing and public health funding
  • Knowledge of Patient Administration Systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal history check, or willingness to obtain
  • May be required to undergo mandatory immunisations/vaccinations
