About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide nursing care through the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and document care effects
- Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards
- Maintain confidentiality of materials handled within the Network/entity and ensure proper release of information
- Demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards in interactions with internal and external customers
- Comply with Network and departmental attendance and dress-code policies
- Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment range, growth and development knowledge, and age-appropriate patient communication
- Complete the full-time, competency-based Emergency Department RN Internship program, including seminars, workshops, supervised training, simulation, clinical observations, preceptorship, and ENA modules
- Upon successful completion, practice caring for patients across their lifespans in a St. Luke’s Emergency Department
Requirements
What you’ll need- Nursing students with prospective Spring/Summer/Winter graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship starts
- Nursing students must have experience working in an Emergency Department or prehospital care, or be currently completing a Senior Practicum in an Emergency Department
- Minimum 3.2 GPA
- Experienced RNs who have not worked in an Emergency Department setting may apply
- Maintain current BLS certification
- Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania; New Jersey licensure applies for the Warren Campus
- Ability to perform required physical duties, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, patient transport, stooping, bending, reaching, and required hearing and vision abilities
- Submit application using full legal name and current home address
- Include employment history for the past seven years, including present employer
