About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide nursing care to critically ill patients through the nursing process
  • Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and document the effects of care
  • Coordinate team efforts to provide nursing care for critically ill patients across their lifespan
  • Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel
  • Maintain standards for professional nursing practice
  • Maintain confidentiality of materials handled within the Network/Entity and properly release information
  • Demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards in interactions with internal and external customers
  • Comply with Network and departmental attendance and dress-code policies
  • Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment range, growth and development knowledge, and age-appropriate communication
  • Complete seminars, workshops, supervised training, simulation, clinical observations, preceptorship, and critical-care education
  • Upon successful completion, practice in a St. Luke’s Critical Care Unit caring for patients across their lifespans

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Nursing student with prospective Spring/Summer/Winter graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for NCLEX and obtain licensure before the start of the internship
  • Minimum 3.2 overall GPA at time of application or confirmed Senior Practicum in an ICU at time of application
  • Experienced RN who has not worked in the Critical Care setting
  • Current BLS certification
  • Registered Nurse with current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey for the Warren Campus
  • Ability to provide care to critically ill patients across their lifespans
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, patient transport, stooping, bending, reaching, and required hearing, vision, and tactile perception
  • Complete application using full legal name and current home address
  • Include employment history for the past seven years, including present employer
