About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform in-depth, systematic assessments of all assigned patients
- Formulate collaborative and individualized plans of care and identify expected patient outcomes using the nursing process
- Prioritize patient care and work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel
- Function successfully in the scrub role, including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, preparing instruments and suture, surgical asepsis, safety precautions, counts, and cost-effective safe care
- Serve as a professional role model and resource person, providing guidance to co-workers
- Demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards in interactions with internal and external customers
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper release of information
- Comply with Network and departmental attendance and dress-code policies
- Work in operative settings using robotics, integrated hybrid systems, stealth navigation, and imaging capabilities
- Collaborate with vendor groups to support surgical implants and supplies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of one year of operating room nursing experience required
- Registered Nurse with current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey for Warren Campus
- Maintain current BLS certification
- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support course
- AORN certification (CNOR) preferred
- Cardiac OR experience required for the Specialized Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse opportunity at Bethlehem Campus
- Ability to perform scrub-role duties, including surgical asepsis, instrument and suture preparation, safety precautions, and counts
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing up to 10 hours, walking up to 6 hours, lifting/carrying/pushing objects up to 75 lbs occasionally, and transporting patients weighing up to 500 lbs
- Ability to hear normal conversation and high/low frequencies
- Ability to see general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision
- Ability to perceive object attributes through touch
