About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in both practice and hospital settings
- Participates in quality, patient satisfaction and performance improvement initiatives
- Performs history and physical examination of all patients seen
- Provides cost-effective, high-quality care based on best practice evidenced based medicine
- Makes best efforts to adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines
- Demonstrates competency in assessment, range of treatment, and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated
- Provides regular, timely, and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients and their families
- Participates in education of patients and their families
- Evaluates and implements patient health care needs
- Performs routine exams and obtains patient histories
- Manages patient treatment program based on assessment of needs
- Initiates treatment via prescriptions, diagnostic tests, exams and procedures
- Reviews lab results and plans actions according to results
- Performs routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients
- Coordinates patient care and makes referrals as needed
- Collaborates and communicates with other professionals regarding patient care
- Teaches wellness habits and educates patients on prevention of potential health problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current or recent experience in area of specialty
- MD or DO - licensed by the state licensure board within the State of practice
- Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board
