About the role
- Manage North America HR compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements, including EEO and DOL reporting requirements, wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination statutes, workplace policies, and labor regulations.
- Partner with Legal, HR Business Partners, and external consultants to interpret regulatory requirements and implement appropriate HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and risk assessments to identify gaps and ensure adherence to company policies and legal standards.
- Maintain documentation and governance frameworks that support internal and external audits.
- Propose and prepare plan for business review and discussion to manage and mitigate risk elements to ensure compliance with policy and process.
- Investigate employee complaints including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and policy violations.
- Provide guidance and coaching to HR Business Partners and leaders on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and corrective actions.
- Ensure investigations are conducted in a timely, objective, and confidential manner, with proper documentation and reporting.
- Identify trends from employee relations cases and recommend preventive strategies, policy updates, and training initiatives.
- Manage HR compliance and employee relations dashboards at a global level, gathering data information across region that provide actionable insights to HR leadership and business stakeholders.
- Track key metrics including investigation trends, compliance risk indicators, policy adherence, and employee relations outcomes.
- Utilize data analytics to support strategic decision-making, identify patterns, and recommend proactive interventions.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring manual HR processes, particularly in compliance reporting, investigation tracking, and HR data management.
- Support initiatives to streamline HR workflows, improve operational efficiency, and reduce administrative burden across HR teams.
- Collaborate with HRIS, Technology and analytics teams to implement digital solutions, workflow automation, and reporting tools.
- Establish scalable processes and standardized frameworks for compliance and employee relations management.
- Develop, review, and update HR policies to ensure compliance with evolving employment laws and best practices.
- Deliver training programs for managers and HR teams on compliance topics, workplace conduct, and employee relations best practices.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, and/or Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent combination of related experience to include a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Human Resource management
- 12+ years’ experience in the areas of human resource management, employee relations, internal investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, employment law, compliance, ad hoc negotiations and related matters
- Ability to apply expert knowledge of applicable local, state and federal employment laws, regulations and policies; Knowledge and understanding of Title VII, ADA, FMLA, DOL regulations, EEO compliance and related state and federal employment laws
- Experience supporting NAM compliance programs, and experience supporting global compliance programs preferred
- Experience conducting complex ER investigations, handling employee-related issues and policy development
- Ability to apply knowledge to diagnose and develop appropriate solutions to complex cross-organizational issues
- Proven success in delivering proactive employee relations initiatives that drive consistency and efficiency
- Capable of building strong relationships and rapport with leadership teams, global HR colleagues and business leaders, internal and external legal counsel, and internal support areas
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and lead multiple activities, projects and priorities
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, but also discern situations where information must be shared on a 'need to know' basis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation, facilitation, and negotiation skills
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR) is a plus
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday), Microsoft Office Suite and Data Analytics
- Experience leveraging/implementing AI into HR processes preferred
