About the role

  • Install Mainframe Software, maintain and update existing Mainframe systems.
  • Conduct Mainframe systems programming and support activities.
  • Monitor effective language codes, processing routines, hardware use, and database management techniques.
  • Prepare and conduct system and programming tests.
  • Ensure system improvements are successfully implemented.
  • Lead medium to large projects or work on complex issues requiring broad perspective and analysis.
  • Develop policies and procedures and recommend best practices.
  • Responsible for design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of various system programs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience, or high school degree and 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience in mainframe as a systems programmer in IBM/z environment.
  • Strong understanding of z/OS operating system and system structures
