About the role
- Play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our systems through meticulous planning, execution, and documentation of testing activities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to validate business requirements, identify and resolve defects, and maintain system integrity
- Apply a range of testing methodologies, contributing to iterative development cycles or structured delivery phases as appropriate
- Develop and execute test automation
- Design and maintain high-quality test plans, scenarios, and scripts to validate that business requirements are met
- Produce clear and comprehensive testing documentation in line with organizational standards
- Execute structured and thorough testing activities, adhering to test plans and utilizing appropriate tools to ensure system stability and capture accurate test evidence
- Identify, log, and track software defects, ensuring all relevant information is recorded to support efficient resolution
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and ensure timely delivery of testing tasks
- Develop a strong understanding of SS&C systems and associated technologies to enhance testing effectiveness and support user-focused validation
- Apply industry and business knowledge to assess system functionality and ensure alignment with operational needs
- Monitor and manage issue reporting, ensuring timely progression through to resolution
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that changes do not negatively impact existing functionality – both manual and automated regression scripts
- Perform manual and automated testing of software applications across the full stack of applications (e.g. front end/back end etc)
- Perform API testing using various API test tools
Requirements
- Understanding of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) scenarios written in feature file format
- Experience & understanding of different types of testing (Functional, Integration, Regression, UAT)
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
- Proven work experience in software development
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Retirement Solutions domain knowledge will be a plus
