About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the multi-year enterprise pricing technology roadmap, including sequencing, funding, and capability milestones across price setting, price optimization, quote governance, and CPQ.
- Serve as the accountable executive for the enterprise pricing platform implementation end to end — delivery, adoption, and realized value.
- Build and own the integration plan for each business vertical — Building Products, Heritage (Pool and Landscape), GMS, and Mingledorff's.
- Stand up the enterprise Deal Desk from concept through steady-state operation: charter, staffing model, service levels, thresholds, decision rights, and escalation paths.
- Build the pricing science capability: elasticity estimation, willingness-to-pay modeling, customer and transaction segmentation, price-response testing, and optimization methodology.
- Own the enterprise value capture agenda: quantify the opportunity, build the initiative portfolio, and track realized versus modeled impact with rigor.
- Own change management for pricing technology adoption across roughly 450 branches and four verticals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ years across pricing, revenue management, commercial analytics, pricing technology, or related commercial leadership roles, including experience building new capabilities.
- Hands-on ownership of at least one enterprise pricing platform implementation (Pricefx, Vendavo, PROS, Zilliant, or comparable) through go-live and value realization.
- Experience standing up or significantly evolving a deal desk, quote governance function, or equivalent commercial capability.
- Demonstrated leadership of quantitative teams — data science, pricing science, or advanced analytics — including ownership of methodology as well as people.
- Experience in B2B distribution, building products, industrial distribution, wholesale, or another multi-site, field-led commercial environment.
- Track record integrating enterprise capability across multiple business units or acquired platforms with distinct systems and cultures.
- Fluency with pricing methodology: segmentation, elasticity, optimization, price waterfall, guardrail and corridor design, cost-to-serve, and rebate economics.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with a CIO and enterprise IT as a peer, helping shape architecture, data strategy, and delivery.
- Executive presence and credibility with business presidents, CFO, and CEO.
