About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conceptualize, produce, edit, and analyze content across the organization to support Springboard Collaborative programming
- Ensure the editorial quality of organization-wide digital and printed materials
- Edit materials for grammar, punctuation, and adherence to editorial style
- Analyze print and digital materials for clearness of expression, logical flaws, repetitiveness, and uniformity of design
- Prepare training manuals, guides, and support materials for conferences and events
- Maintain unified style and format guides across digital and printed content and collateral types
- Train internal partners and advise staff on editorial style expectations
- Consult and collaborate with partners to clarify use cases and expectations
- Apply developmental, substantive, copy editing, and proofreading review as appropriate
- Maintain editorial workflows and systems for timely, efficient, high-quality support
- Edit and refine K–5 literacy and math instructional materials for standards alignment, instructional soundness, and coherence
- Conduct research and collaborate with internal and external subject-matter experts to ensure technical accuracy
- Report to the Assistant Vice President, Curriculum & Instruction, within the Product & Services department
- Complete editorial work from backlog through final review and facilitate one digital accessibility enablement session per quarter
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of professional editing experience
- 2+ years of experience editing or working with K–12 educational curricula
- Experience creating and/or maintaining style guides
- Experience managing editorial workflows and internal processes
- Strong editorial experience
- Top-notch written and verbal communication skills
- High accountability and dependability
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Expertise in Chicago Manual of Style guidelines (nice to have)
- Experience as an elementary classroom teacher (nice to have)
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to evolving needs in an entrepreneurial environment
- Must reside in the United States
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 when working in-person at a Springboard facility or participating in in-person programming/events, unless medically or religiously exempt
