Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies for acquiring trucks and related equipment.
Analyze market trends to identify cost-effective solutions that meet the company’s needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with truck manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers.
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable supply chains.
Conduct thorough market research to stay informed about new truck models, technologies, and pricing trends.
Evaluate the competitive landscape to inform purchasing decisions.
Monitor inventory levels of trucks and related equipment to ensure that procurement aligns with operational demands.
Develop and maintain an efficient inventory management system.
Analyze total cost of ownership, including maintenance, fuel efficiency, and resale value, to make informed purchasing decisions.
Prepare financial reports and forecasts related to truck procurement.
Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and logistics, to ensure that purchasing decisions support overall business objectives.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies throughout the purchasing process.
Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier agreements.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience in truck purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms and building positive supplier relationships.
Excellent analytical skills to assess market conditions, evaluate suppliers, and analyze costs.
Proficient in financial modeling and reporting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple purchasing projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
