About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the product strategy for SpotOn both new hardware and improving current hardware in the field
  • Manage the hardware product roadmap, making strategic adjustments as needed based on client needs, data, and business priority.
  • Work with multiple cross-functional teams to elicit, understand, rationalize, and prioritize requests for new functionality.
  • Assess market competition, client preferences, emerging technologies, and industry trends to identify what is needed to maintain a competitive advantage and sustained growth.
  • Partner with engineering to test new devices and leverage telemetry and data to inform decisions.
  • Build relationships with key business partners and other brand stakeholders to serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as product marketing, on the creation of positioning for your products.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of relevant product management experience with restaurant hardware or consumer hardware
  • Strong understanding of the hardware lifecycle from prototype to general availability.
  • Ability to facilitate technical hardware discussions, customer outcome discussions, and how the two come together.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to coordinate with stakeholders including individual contributors and external partners. Can competently navigate chaos, lead without authority, and drive best-informed decisions in the absence of perfect information.
  • Ability to influence C-level and help drive well informed decisions.
  • A metrics-driven work style that leverages data to make informed decisions.
  • An ability to manage multiple projects in an iterative process.
  • Ability to put yourself in the customer’s shoes to understand their needs and how they interact with our products.
  • Past restaurant experience, especially working in a restaurant, is a serious plus
