About the role
- Work with a collaborative team to improve the infrastructure systems that power Spotify’s backend
- Build, operate, and maintain central services with a focus on reliability and scalability
- Design and develop infrastructure tools and services used by engineering teams across Spotify
- Work with modern technologies at scale, supporting thousands of developers and over a billion users
- Contribute to improving system performance, availability, and resilience
- Take part in an on-call rotation and support the services your team owns
Requirements
- experienced in building backend systems or infrastructure services
- strong programming skills in at least one language; experience with Java is helpful
- experience working with cloud-based environments
- understand fundamentals of distributed systems and scalable architecture
- care about building reliable systems and improving how they perform over time
- enjoy learning, experimenting, and working with new technologies
- comfortable collaborating with others across teams and locations
- interest in networking, media delivery, or CDN systems
