About the role

  • The Personalization (PZN) team builds recommendations and personalization features for Spotify.
  • Build the platform to ingest, model, materialize high-scale, event-driven user behavior data and serve at scale.
  • Develop, deploy, and operate Java services that impact millions of users.
  • Support machine learning projects powering individualized user experiences.
  • Work with large-scale data pipelines and frameworks like Scio, BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform, and Apache Beam.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and team members; deliver scalable, testable, maintainable, high-quality code.
  • Share knowledge and mentor to promote standard methodologies and team growth.

Requirements

  • You have worked extensively with backend services in Java at high scale.
  • You are familiar with the concepts of data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.
  • You are familiar with distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Beam and Apache Spark.
