About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to and maintain Spotify’s Desktop C++ application across macOS and Windows
  • Develop native container capabilities enabling UI teams to build new experiences and use evolving platform capabilities
  • Improve platform systems, CI configurations, build pipelines, packaging, and application delivery
  • Develop and maintain backend services supporting content delivery, update infrastructure, and release tooling
  • Build and improve operating system integrations, including features connecting Spotify with partner platforms
  • Collaborate with external partners such as Microsoft on the latest platform capabilities
  • Explore AI agent integrations within the Spotify Desktop experience
  • Work with distributed engineers and partners to solve complex problems across systems, platforms, and technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong C++ development skills
  • Experience working on production software with a large user base
  • Experience navigating complex codebases spanning multiple programming languages, technologies, and systems
  • Ability to take ownership of systems through development, maintenance, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and work through ambiguity
  • Motivation to learn new technologies, platforms, and areas of the codebase
  • Effective cross-team collaboration and clear communication
  • Comfortable working with colleagues across a fully distributed team
