About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee 6–8 after-school programs across K–12 schools in the five boroughs
- Ensure high-quality operations and program success
- Supervise Program Directors and ensure contract compliance
- Develop and implement curriculum and enrichment activities
- Recruit and train staff, manage schedules and budgets
- Support special events
- Serve as the primary liaison between New York Edge, school principals, funders, and internal teams
- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate program quality and provide feedback
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships and effective communication
- Address parent concerns and manage incidents as needed
- Promote professional growth of Program Directors and staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required (Education, Psychology, or Social Work preferred)
- Minimum of 18 college credits in Education from an accredited institution
- Prior supervisory experience in urban education; teaching or afterschool management preferred
- Completion of the 15-hour OCFS Health and Safety course within three months of hire (required for DOHMH compliance)
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities
- Knowledge of curriculum design, program evaluation, and fiscal planning
- Familiarity with DOE/public school systems and city, state, and federal funding for afterschool programs
- Understanding of sports, arts, and academic enrichment programming
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to youth development, equity, and New York Edge’s mission
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and adaptable to remote work environments.
