About the role

  • Operation, administration and further development of MS SQL Server and Oracle databases
  • Incident and change management, as well as installation, configuration and monitoring
  • Performance analysis and optimization (query tuning, index strategies, resource management)
  • Ensuring backups, recovery, high availability and disaster recovery (DR) concepts
  • Development and automation of operational procedures and maintenance processes
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for database-related deployments
  • Creating technical documentation and contributing to architectural decisions

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training or degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of hands-on experience operating Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
  • Strong programming skills in Python and PowerShell
  • Practical experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operating Linux and Windows servers
  • Confident handling of structured data formats such as XML, JSON, CSV and YAML
  • Ideally, initial experience with Docker, Python-based machine learning/AI applications and monitoring tools
  • Very good command of German and English
