About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee raw material planning and finished goods planning
- Lead, mentor, and develop a planning team of five
- Serve as a key member of the operations leadership team
- Contribute to overall strategy, priorities, and cross-functional alignment
- Establish best-in-class planning processes, tools, and capabilities
- Own supply planning, production scheduling, and allocation
- Lead and ensure S&OP process governance
- Integrate commercial, operations, and finance teams to deliver balanced supply plans
- Align production, distribution, and service objectives with supply chain and commercial teams
- Minimize working capital and obsolescence
- Drive raw material and ingredient forecasts across short-term and long-range horizons
- Ensure purchasing execution aligns with demand
- Champion continuous improvement in ERP and planning systems such as NetSuite
- Enhance inventory control, accuracy, and visibility across co-packers, suppliers, and 3PLs
- Implement and institutionalize scalable and resilient process improvements
- Develop and own planning-related budgets, forecasts, and COGS targets
- Drive productivity initiatives that improve service, reduce costs, and enhance working capital performance
- Provide scenario planning, risk assessment, and decision support for executive leadership
- Support one-, three-, and five-year operating plans
- Support continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated success leading teams and planning functions within consumer packaged goods or similar industries
- Ability to influence at senior leadership levels and drive collaboration and alignment across commercial and operational teams
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, growth-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or related discipline
- 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning
- Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and S&OP
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into insights and actionable strategies
- Ability to lead others to build strong analytical models
- Advanced computer literacy
- MS Excel expertise required
- ERP planning systems (NetSuite or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Experience presenting to senior audiences
- Ability to distill complex scenarios into digestible and actionable takeaways
- Ability to work in office at the Newton HQ office approximately 4 days per week
