About the role
- Manage the accounting staff and accounts payable specialists; reports to Finance Director EMEA
- Manage monthly general ledger close and variance reporting for two major entities and five branches/subsidiaries
- Post and review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Compile and review schedules for outside auditors and year-end audit
- Manage tax reporting (VAT, Intrastat)
- Review and approve vendor bills; initiate vendor payments
- Propose, document, and implement new accounting processes and internal control procedures
- Manage integrating acquisitions into systems and processes
- Lead country-specific statutory accounts, audit, and tax reporting requirements
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and contribute to projects
- Manage and develop accounting staff providing effective coaching
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from accredited four-year college or university
- Fluent in either German or English and proficient in the other language
- >6 years of work experience, including supervisory experience
- CPA certificate required (or international equivalent)
- Preferred: experience in accounting, reporting and controls related to M&A activities
- Preferred: NetSuite experience
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Power Point
- Sound understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
