About the role
- Engage and excite high school students about skilled trade careers (Be Pro Be Proud program)
- Travel the state of North Carolina, typically Monday–Friday, to high schools and event sites
- Train to set up custom double-expandable Mobile Workshop trailer and operate interactive stations and simulators
- Travel to each school/event site in a company-provided car and assist CDL partner in setup and preparation
- Execute the day's event with CDL partner and deliver program messaging to students (approx. 25–30 students per class, ~150 students per day)
- Ensure the event trailer and all exhibits/simulators are clean, safe, operational, and event-ready
- Assist students with interactive components and engage with teachers and administrators
- Tear down the trailer and pack exhibits each day with CDL partner
- Work with school/event site point of contact to plan daily events
- Perform troubleshooting of mechanical and technology issues with SPEVCO support
- Maintain documentation, follow safety procedures, and represent SPEVCO professionally
Requirements
- Must be a resident of North Carolina and currently live in that state
- Leadership, Integrity, and Positive Energy
- Must be the safest of drivers over-the-road; impeccable driving record
- Strong safety mindset and desire to promote safety culture
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work with high school-aged students and engage young people positively
- Ability to engage and create excitement around careers in various skilled trades
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required
- Clean criminal and motor vehicle background
- Some schools/systems may require consent to additional background checks
- Experience with moving and setting up custom expandable event trailers is preferred
- Comfortable with public speaking in front of small groups (~30 students)
- Comfortable interacting with students aged 13–18 and school staff
- Strong client service skills and pleasant customer service manner
- Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and technology problems with support
- Ability to self-manage and function as part of a 2-person team
- Computer skills – Ability to use an Android tablet, email, MS Suite, and web-based applications
- Willingness to maintain a show-ready clean and safe vehicle and exhibit
- Physical ability to frequently lift and move 50–100 pounds and perform standing, walking, climbing, balancing, lifting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, talking, hearing, smelling, seeing, and operating tools/controls
