About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect, measure, and test products using electronic measuring equipment and a microscope
- Interpret test schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and equipment
- Perform final acceptance testing according to customer specifications
- Connect and tune units using signal generators, frequency meters, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Read electronic characteristic displays, including voltage, frequency, time delay, distortion, inductance, and capacitance
- Compare results with specifications and record or plot test data
- Analyze test results using engineering specifications
- Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, performance, and quality
- Train and mentor technicians
- Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others about testing procedures and results to resolve problems
- Prepare test equipment and set up evaluations for nonstandard or customer-returned units
- Prepare technical reports, summarize findings, and recommend solutions to technical problems
- Test and troubleshoot RF devices, preamps, switch filter assemblies, microwave filters, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions with minimal supervision
- Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing
- Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in electronics or related field, or military electronics experience
- 3–5 years of experience in functional testing and troubleshooting of RF devices, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with microelectronic products under a microscope
- Experience with RF circuitry, including amplifiers, mixers, and integrated microwave assemblies, down to the component level
- Skilled using oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Experience performing visual inspections
- Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Effective communication via Teams and email
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Experience soldering (J-STD) and with electronics assembly processes
- Experience working with engineers
- AS9100 experience
- Able to sit at a workstation/microscope 8+ hours per day
- Able to lift and/or move 25 pounds
- General vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
