About the role

Monitor clustered & replicated database systems health and configurations daily
Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases in the operational, QA, and development environments and remediate problems/issues in a timely manner
Perform day-to-day operational activities including troubleshoot, break/fix, and failovers
Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects
Deploy clustered & replicated database systems within the operational, QA, and development environments
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
Monitor backups and maintenance jobs
Identify and tune badly performing queries
Provide assistance with ad-hoc query development and data analysis
Provide 24x7x365 on-call rotation for after-hours support
Be a customer advocate by consistently meeting, exceeding expectations and incorporating customer service into all aspects of work

BA/BS Degree with at least 4 years of experience
In lieu of a degree, 4 years of additional experience is required
4+ Years of IT experience, specifically in a DBA role
3+ years working with MongoDB OR 3+ years working with Sybase
Experience with PostgreSQL
Good team player with strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills
Able to work under pressure and multi-task
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US
