About the role
- Lead and optimize quote configuration processes including RFQ/RFPs, SOWs, and technical drawings for aerospace and military customers
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of product data in our existing PLM and ERP systems
- Recommend and implement process improvements in quoting and configuration workflows
- Utilize industry resources to identify suppliers, assess components, and monitor lifecycle and obsolescence
- Manage supplier relationships
- Select suppliers and obtain quotes for components, fabricated items, and PCBs based on strategic factors such as pricing, lead time, and reliability
- Conduct technical analysis of customer requirements for new business opportunities
- Review and interpret customer quality flow-downs, including ITAR, NADCAP, FAR/DFAR, and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100) and customer specifications
- Support new product introduction (NPI) processes by ensuring seamless configuration transitions
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to capture customer requirements and incorporate lessons learned
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to implement and communicate product changes effectively
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and systems-related questions within the department
- Provide training and guidance on configuration management best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred or HS Diploma and 6+ years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in configuration management, quotation processes, or related roles in an EMS or high-reliability manufacturing environment
- Required Experience in Electronic Component Engineering required.
- Must have previous experience working in a Contract Manufacturing Company.
- Strong knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and industry standards
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, macros, and VBA
- Experience with PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Agile, Arena, SAP)
- Familiarity with aerospace and military industry standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
