About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end design for product features and workflows, from discovery through shipped outcomes
- Design experiences handling edge cases, regulatory nuance, permissions, states, exceptions, and real-world processes
- Design cohesive experiences across multiple personas and levels of expertise
- Partner with Product and Engineering to clarify problems, explore solutions, define scope, and ship high-quality work quickly
- Conduct pragmatic research including interviews, workflow mapping, and prototype tests; synthesize insights and iterate
- Apply and help evolve design patterns and systems to improve quality, consistency, speed, and coherence
- Communicate rationale, tradeoffs, and decisions to build alignment across the EPD team
- Shape the product experience and contribute to how Sparrow builds and ships
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4–6+ years of product design experience, including shipping meaningful product work
- Experience designing complex, workflow-heavy products
- Experience with operationally complex domains such as fintech, healthcare, HR, payments, insurance, benefits, or admin tools is a bonus
- Strong interaction and systems thinking
- Ability to design flows handling nuance, permissions, states, and exceptions
- Comfort working with ambiguity, contributing to problem definition, proposing options, and iterating
- Strong collaboration with Product and Engineering, including scope and tradeoff discussions
- Excellent UI, content, and interaction design craft and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for applying technology to difficult problems and building beautiful, useful products
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be physically working from within the United States if hired
