About the role

  • Provide deep technical knowledge about the company's products and services, demonstrating their capabilities and benefits to potential customers.
  • Establish and foster trusted partnerships with key industry stakeholders to uncover strategic insights, emerging innovation trends, and competitive dynamics to shape solution development and drive customer-aligned innovation.
  • Champion customer-centric innovation by leading ideation workshops fostering cross-functional collaboration to uncover and address voice of customer pain points translating insights into actionable engineering requirements.
  • Identify the customer’s technical pain points during the entire life cycle and translate them into new engineering requirements for products, tools, or field solutions.
  • Summarize product features, functionalities, code compliance, and long-term performance and submit the ideas into the Stage-Gate process.
  • Work directly with end users to specify products and services that meet Southwire’s five sustainability attributes from cradle to grave.
  • Have proficient knowledge of NEC, NESC, UL, and other relevant industry standards and specifications.
  • Interpret electrical/mechanical drawings (CAD, BIM), which include system accessories, to provide the best-in-class solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Specialized Degree: Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical
  • 7-10 Years of Experience
  • Field(s) of Expertise: Engineering: application support and/or product experience in the Wire and Cable, Power, Utility, Manufacturing, or Electrical Industry is required.
  • Product engineering: Innovation, design, development, launch and commercialization.
  • Master's Degree Specialized Degree: Engineering, Mechanical (preferred)
  • 8-11 Years of Experience
  • Field(s) of Expertise: Extensive field experience in residential, commercial, telecom, or utility product installation. (preferred)
  • Certifications/Licenses: CAD, Revit (BIM), Project Management
  • Proficient in Codes & Standards: NEC, ASTM, UL, CSA, IEEE, ICEA, NEMA
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification (optional/part of preference)
