About the role
- Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.
- You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves.
- You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and community service/volunteer initiatives.
- You will have the opportunity to impact the future of the organization, all the while being exposed to a world-class program community.
- Finally, our rising senior interns and co-ops are considered for full-time employment opportunities.
- Provide support to maintenance and process team improvement projects.
- Assist with the design, development, and testing of new or modified equipment, components, and systems.
- Support data collection and analysis for root cause investigations, failure analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in updating and creating engineering documentation, standard operating procedures, and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate on continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance safety within manufacturing processes.
- Participate in equipment installations, production upgrades, commissioning activities, or process trials under guidance from engineers.
- Utilize CAD software to create or revise drawings, layouts, or models as needed for project work.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other deliverables to communicate project progress and results.
- Engage with cross-functional teams including maintenance, production, quality, and safety to drive project success.
- Support internal and external communication efforts related to engineering projects and initiatives.
- Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be currently enrolled in an ABET accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or other relevant tools.
- Displays competence and a good attitude.
