About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating District contracts
  • Providing legal support throughout all stages of the procurement process
  • Advising internal staff and representing the District under supervision of the Deputy General Counsel
  • Evaluating strategies for resolving legal problems
  • Generating alternative solutions and strategies
  • Developing a plan of action for a variety of legal issues relating to the District's operations
  • Reviewing legal documents, including contracts and procurement-related materials
  • Provides legal counsel to management and staff
  • Represents the District in litigation and other proceedings
  • Prepares and reviews legal instruments, such as licenses, leases, easements, or purchase and sale contracts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Florida Bar License
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Attorney 2: Two (2) years' experience as a practicing attorney
