About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conducts technical review of studies, engineering designs, hydrologic & hydraulic (H&H) models, and construction documents supporting natural systems restoration and water quality improvement projects
  • Manages SWIM District Initiatives, ensuring alignment with project objectives, District priorities, and compliance with District procedures and policies
  • Negotiates scopes of work and associated professional service fees with consultants and partners
  • Leads project and technical presentations to internal teams, governing bodies, and external stakeholders
  • Provides technical guidance, mentorship, and engineering practice support to staff engineers and scientists

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Four (4) years related work experience
  • Valid Florida Professional Engineer license
  • Valid driver's license
  • (For Senior Professional Engineer) Five (5) years related work experience
  • (For Senior Professional Engineer) Seven (7) years related work experience
  • Preferred: Masters or better in civil, construction, environmental engineering, or related field
  • Preferred: Project Management Information System experience
  • Preferred: Water quality project experience
  • Preferred: Natural systems restoration experience
