Participate in the design and construction of projects aimed at improving or extending the operational life of District flood protection and water conservation structures.
Provide technical review of construction plans, budgets, and cost estimates.
Perform tasks associated with complex multi-discipline capital improvement projects.
Conduct technical review of projects within expected time frames and established requirements.
Prepare and evaluate requests for proposals and bids; contract negotiations; contractor oversight, and cost tracking against budgeted funds.
Oversee the work of assigned staff or contractors.
Apply knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering, as well as other physical, environmental, and construction principles to make sound recommendations.
Understand and apply water related laws, policies, rules, regulations and guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelors degree (or higher) in Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
Valid driver's license
Two (2) years related work experience for Engineer 2 role
Four (4) years related work experience for Engineer 3 role
Five (5) years related work experience for Engineer 4 role
Seven (7) years related work experience for Engineer 5 role
Valid Florida Professional Engineer license for Engineer 3, Engineer 4, and Engineer 5 roles
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
