About the role
- Take ownership of all tasks and challenges in assigned position.
- Assist the Controller, Assistant Controllers and fellow Accountants with the month-end close process, account reconciliations, consolidation, financial preparation, financial statement analysis, and acquisition integrations.
- Ensure general ledger integrity is maintained through timely reconcilements and proper classification to accounts and responsibility centers.
- Reconcile and review general ledger & bank use accounts under corporate accounting responsibility.
- Prepare accurate general ledger entries that are accompanied by supporting documentation for bank, holding company and various subsidiaries.
- Prepare accurate monthly reports and corresponding journal entries for month end.
- Assist with completion of monthly and quarterly variance analysis.
- Assist with Mergers & Acquisitions (i.e. assist with GL balancing, GL mapping, application balancing, opening balance sheet accounting).
- Assist with maintaining a SOX control environment.
- Prepare reports for financial reporting to regulatory authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting preferred.
- 4+ years of accounting experience with Financial Institution experience preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of accounting and reconciliation: Blackline, Microsoft Office; Workday experience a plus; report writing/technical knowledge; good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
