About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls communicating and promoting organ, tissue, and eye donation
- Document referrals from all referring organizations
- Properly assess potential organ/tissue donation and communicate referrals
- Perform authorization conversations and complete paperwork for anatomical gifts
- Screen potential tissue and eye donors with approved agencies
- Facilitate donation through telephone and computer referrals
- Enter data into donor and referral database
- Share information with potential donor families over a recorded telephone line
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited clinical healthcare program resulting in certification, registry, or licensure
- 1-year experience working in a similar position at another Organ Procurement Organization, Eye Bank or Tissue Bank may substitute for education or experience
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Ability to practice with a high degree of autonomy in a self-directed manner
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Consistent demonstration of attention to detail, precision, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
