About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The controller position is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, including the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintaining a robust system of accounting records, and implementing comprehensive controls to mitigate risk and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Safeguards assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal controls across departments.
  • Manages the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, etc.
  • Develops, improves and issues timely monthly financial records.
  • Interfaces with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, etc.
  • Provides a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Designs, establishes and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • Strong experience with revenue recognition
  • Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
  • Requires knowledge of principles of financial management sufficient to direct professional staff and the ability to develop annual budgets, analyze financial data and patterns and prepare financial statements.
  • Must be familiar with healthcare-related terms and the various components of managed care.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Preferred CPA, Sage ERP experience.
