About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee planning, execution, and completion of complex, high-impact IT projects and initiatives across the organization
- Organize, manage, and deliver IT project and program work, including project charters, plans, schedules, resource risk management, and status reporting
- Manage scope, schedule, cost, communication, risk, quality, and resources across multiple IT projects or programs
- Lead end-to-end project management through research, analysis, stakeholder input, strategic recommendations, and execution
- Manage deliverables, project resources, and internal and external deadlines
- Oversee cross-functional teams, internal staff, and external vendors
- Lead project meetings, agendas, notes, and follow-up actions
- Communicate work status and deliverables to project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements
- Liaise between Project Management and departments and divisions across the Consortium
- Develop and pitch strategic ideas supporting service and business development
- Manage stakeholder expectations across a geographically dispersed service area
- Travel frequently as required and develop mechanisms for information dissemination and customer feedback
- May assume supervisory responsibility as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, OR Bachelor’s degree with additional experience
- 8+ years of demonstrated progressive, relevant experience in IT project development and management, execution and closeout; program planning, development and implementation; strategic communications; and budget tracking
- Bachelor’s degree applicants require an additional two years of experience
- Significant experience with health care IT is preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required; if not currently PMP-certified, it must be attained within 24 months of hire
- Knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) framework
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and methodologies
- Knowledge of SDLC, ITIL, and change management principles
- Knowledge of needs assessment and program planning
- Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems
- Knowledge of budget tracking and reporting principles and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership, presentation, time management, organizational, strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects concurrently and meet deadlines
- Ability to provide leadership to internal customers and understand customer goals, needs, and relevant best practices
- Ability to build trust, rapport, and credibility with team members and internal customers
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and demanding targets
