About the role

  • Responsible for generating revenue by representing Sourcewell’s Risk Services solutions
  • Achieving profit and margin goals by managing risk pools served and generating fees by administrating risk pools
  • Developing and executing on plans to engage with new pools, increase membership in pools, and drive growth in Risk Services
  • Occasionally representing Sourcewell at internal and external meetings
  • Actively managing the Risk Services business unit to achieve P&L goals
  • Developing and executing on business plans to drive growth of the Risk Services business unit with guidance
  • Launching new Risk Services solutions and onboarding new clients and partners
  • Developing and delivering insurance renewals and proposals from underwriting, actuarial review, and final insurance premium development with guidance
  • Supporting membership governance to make informed decisions regarding financial positions, wellness programs, renewals, premium development and other considerations
  • Developing and employing risk management strategies to improve and grow solutions, meet financial goals, and provide high quality service to members
  • Ensuring compliance with awarded contract terms and with all internal and external regulatory requirements
  • Managing relationships with customers (i.e. suppliers, members, administrators, partners, brokers, and insurance agents)
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with all appropriate levels of customers to support goals in a cost-effective manner
  • Developing and executing on account management strategies to provide high touch customer service with a high level of attention to detail
  • Managing and delivering training on how to best sell Sourcewell solutions through various in-person and virtual methods
  • Managing the process of supporting suppliers in developing marketing strategies and material to promote market segment, category, and contract growth
  • Occasionally attending and presenting at tradeshows, conferences, internal supplier events and Sourcewell organized events to drive growth of Risk Services and increase awareness of Sourcewell and our solutions
  • Capturing and developing Voice of Customer insights from and for members, administrators, partners, brokers, and insurance agents
  • Managing the process of capturing insights from all customers about current and future trends in the industry, general market, and potential clients
  • Representing suppliers to internal Sourcewell teams to establish strategies, focus Government Relations efforts, enhance procurement processes, and improve procedures to ensure sustained growth of contract sales
  • Supporting the Category Development team by providing insights about current or future categories, suppliers, and agency needs
  • Managing relationships with industry consultants, associations, and publications
  • Representing the Risk, Benefits, and Insurance team at internal meetings and participating in the annual planning process
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field AND 2 years of demonstrated experience with health care plans, insurance sales management, P&L management, business development, or other directly related experience
  • A combination of related post-secondary and/or professional education/training and demonstrated relevant work experience equivalent to a total of four (4) years
  • Public speaking or sales presentation experience
  • Business process and operational knowledge in sales, customer service, supply chain, and/or procurement
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field AND four (4) years of demonstrated experience with health care plans, insurance sales management, P&L management, business development, or other directly related experience (for Senior Risk Services Executive)
  • A combination of related post-secondary and/or professional education/training and demonstrated relevant work experience equivalent to a total of eight (8) years (for Senior Risk Services Executive)
  • Two (2) years of public speaking and/or sales presentation experience (for Senior Risk Services Executive)
  • Two (2) years of sales experience (for Senior Risk Services Executive)
  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Minnesota Health Insurance License.
