About the role

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the SOSi Safety Management Program
  • Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and risk mitigation planning
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Lead safety briefings, training, and awareness campaigns for staff and deployable teams
  • Establish QA/QC standards, procedures, and performance metrics for ERSS operations
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and evaluations of facilities, equipment, and operational processes
  • Track non‑conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain documentation required for ASPR reporting, audits, and compliance reviews
  • Provide safety oversight during emergency activations, deployments, and surge operations
  • Support Incident Command or Unified Command structures as a safety advisor or technical specialist
  • Ensure safe operations in field environments, including staging areas, deployment sites, and mobile facilities
  • Monitor environmental controls, hazardous materials handling, waste management, and indoor air quality
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency response gear
  • Oversee accident investigations, incident reporting, and root‑cause analysis
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, facilities, and medical teams to ensure integrated safety practices
  • Coordinate with federal partners (HHS/ASPR, FEMA, DoW) and local authorities on safety and compliance matters
  • Provide clear, actionable safety guidance to leadership and field personnel
  • Maintain safety records, training logs, inspection reports, and QA/QC documentation
  • Support development of SOPs, safety plans, and quality management plans
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and briefings for program leadership and government stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety management, public health, business or public administration, or related field
  • 7 years experience in safety management, quality assurance, quality control, or EHS programs
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and risk management practices
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, and safety training
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced, operational, or emergency response environments
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • May have to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret clearance (depending on customer)
