About the role
- Develop, implement, and oversee the SOSi Safety Management Program
- Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and risk mitigation planning
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Lead safety briefings, training, and awareness campaigns for staff and deployable teams
- Establish QA/QC standards, procedures, and performance metrics for ERSS operations
- Conduct inspections, audits, and evaluations of facilities, equipment, and operational processes
- Track non‑conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain documentation required for ASPR reporting, audits, and compliance reviews
- Provide safety oversight during emergency activations, deployments, and surge operations
- Support Incident Command or Unified Command structures as a safety advisor or technical specialist
- Ensure safe operations in field environments, including staging areas, deployment sites, and mobile facilities
- Monitor environmental controls, hazardous materials handling, waste management, and indoor air quality
- Ensure proper use of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency response gear
- Oversee accident investigations, incident reporting, and root‑cause analysis
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, facilities, and medical teams to ensure integrated safety practices
- Coordinate with federal partners (HHS/ASPR, FEMA, DoW) and local authorities on safety and compliance matters
- Provide clear, actionable safety guidance to leadership and field personnel
- Maintain safety records, training logs, inspection reports, and QA/QC documentation
- Support development of SOPs, safety plans, and quality management plans
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and briefings for program leadership and government stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management, public health, business or public administration, or related field
- 7 years experience in safety management, quality assurance, quality control, or EHS programs
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and risk management practices
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, and safety training
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, operational, or emergency response environments
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- U.S. citizenship required
- May have to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret clearance (depending on customer)
