About the role

  • Support the HR and Payroll team in managing day-to-day employee matters, helping ensure smooth and efficient processes
  • Assist with monthly payroll preparation
  • Handle social security and tax-related matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with German regulations
  • Help prepare and process employment-related documents such as work certificates, confirmations, and employee letters
  • Act as the first point of contact in our HR ticketing system, ensuring requests are tracked, assigned, and resolved efficiently
  • Maintain employee records and keep our HR systems up to date with accurate data
  • Manage incoming correspondence (emails and post) at our Cologne office, ensuring timely distribution and follow-up
  • Collaborate on HR and payroll projects, contributing ideas to improve processes and enhance the employee experience

Requirements

  • You are an enrolled student at a recognized university, pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, and communicate clearly and confidently
  • You are comfortable with digital tools and systems and quick to adopt new technologies
  • You have solid Excel skills and can effectively analyze, organize, and present data
  • You’re a fast learner with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • You’re confident and proactive — not afraid to speak up when something doesn’t add up and ready to suggest improvements
  • You’re curious and eager to learn, particularly in the areas of Payroll and HR operations
  • You’re a team player with a hands-on attitude and the drive to grow in a dynamic environment
