About the role
- Serve as the go-to legal counsel and partner for multiple teams building the company’s next generation of products and features
- Advise Product, Design, Marketing, and Engineering stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle, from ideation through launch and iteration
- Streamline and simplify legal reviews, serving as an ambassador for practical, business-aligned legal guidance
- Identify and address product, regulatory, privacy, and other legal risks and mitigations, particularly as they relate to AI agents and products
- Develop creative strategies for handling legal issues and build scalable processes that balance innovation and risk
- Monitor evolving legal and regulatory developments in AI and SaaS and provide guidance to internal stakeholders
- Develop deep expertise in AI-related legal matters, monitor evolving legal and regulatory developments in AI and SaaS, and help propose and advance internal AI legal and policy positions
- Own and manage aspects of the company’s intellectual property portfolio
- Support drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements related to product capabilities and IP matters
- Develop and deliver training on relevant legal topics
- Support regulatory engagements, where applicable
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience, including a mix of top law firm training and experience at B2B SaaS or technology companies
- Strong understanding of product counseling, data privacy, intellectual property, and commercial contracting
- Demonstrated history of developing a culture of getting to “yes, if…”
- Comfort with ambiguity and a creative, solutions-oriented approach to complex legal issues
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to tailor guidance to different audiences
- Experience seeing legal functions grow and scale, with strong pattern recognition around best practices
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, manage competing priorities, and thrive in fast-paced, results-driven environments
- A collaborative team player who leads with humility and a healthy sense of humor
