About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support users in clarifying and understanding operational requirements with respect to features to be developed or modified;
- Perform the functional analysis of features to be developed or modified;
- Participate in, and where required prepare, write, and revise functional analysis documentation of varying complexity in accordance with functional architecture specifications;
- Design and develop system prototypes according to user needs;
- Present the functional specification to the developer responsible for implementation and provide support throughout development;
- Coordinate and supervise the work of programmers assigned to implement the functional specifications;
- Contribute to the development of the testing strategy;
- Develop test scenarios and execute functional and automated tests; support project team members responsible for integration testing as well as users for acceptance testing.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in IT (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering) or equivalent; absence of a degree may be offset by an additional 6 years of experience
- ≥ 8 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years as a functional analyst on Java or .Net systems (within the last 10 years)
- ≥ 3 years of experience developing object-oriented web systems (Java or similar)
- Assets: SQL/Oracle; Agile methodology; government contract ≥ 6 months
