About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify, analyze, and prioritize relevant open (external) innovation opportunities and ensure cross-functional feedback and internal alignment
- Ideating, scoping, pitching, and generating internal stakeholder buy-in and gaining approval to fund projects
- Acting as a key contributor to Solstice AM superior product portfolio pipeline
- Build and maintain a robust network of startups, academics, accelerators, incubators in the relevant scientific fields
- Summarize background research and analysis, and aggregate data to recommend a partner management strategy
- Conduct technology competitive assessment to identify best in-class technology options for Solstice
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or another relevant field
- 7 years of relevant experience leading innovation projects
- Broad scientific knowledge specifically around advanced materials and specialty chemicals spaces
- Advanced Degree (Masters, PH.D.) in relevant field preferred
- Strong critical thinking ability to gauge and identify appropriate opportunities
- Scientific breadth, strong personal networks, curiosity, creativity and desire to learn
- Experience working in different technological domains and business models
- Team player that is familiar with working in a cross functional environment
- Proven track record of successful project management and leadership capabilities
- Self-starter and passion for innovation and discovery
- Working with start-ups, experience working at a start-up or start-up organization is a plus
- Solid understanding of and ability to communicate on a broad range of topics related to sustainable materials space
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing long-term, complex projects from concept to completion
- Self-Starter and dependable with strong interpersonal, collaborative and presentation skills.
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
